2010 Song Project - Countdown - #330-#321

#330 Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers - "Let Yourself Go" from "Mojo" - Petty took a bluesier approach to his music on "Mojo" and it paid off big time with this song and the upcoming "Running Man's Bible".

#329 She And Him - "Ridin' In My Car" from "Volume Two" - She and Him's well-written throwback to 60's girl group music.

#328 Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers - "Running Man's Bible" from "Mojo" - Another slowed down blues rock song from one of the best albums of 2010.

#327 Apostle Of Hustle - "Wu" from "Blalock's Indie Rock Playlist" - A crazy mix of genres that's hard rock and rap at the same time, but really neither.

#326 The Vaselines - "I Hate The 80s" from "Sex With An X" - An alt pop song decrying the 1980's that would have (ironically) had a better chance at being a pop hit then than now.

#325 Jenny And Johnny - "Scissor Runner" from "I'm Having Fun Now" - Jenny Lewis and Johnathan Rice's latest side project produced an album of indie pop bliss, highlighted by "Scissor Runner".

#324 The Dum Dum Girls - "Jail La La" from "I Will Be" - The 60's girl group sound is merged with shoegaze and a catchy chorus to creating one of the most interesting songs of 2010.

#323 The Drive-By Truckers - "After The Scene Dies" from "The Big To-Do" - Another great southern-fried indie tune from the best artist of that particular genre.

#322 Stone Temple Pilots - "Huckleberry Crumble" from "Stone Temple Pilots" - Sounding like a lost track from Aerosmith's "Toys In The Attic" album, "Huckleberry Crumble" has a funky 70's vibe to it.

#321 Zola Jesus - "I Can't Stand" from "Stridulum" - Zola's sound is difficult to describe, with it's bombastic, stadium-filling vocals and dramatic choruses, but it's a lot of fun to listen to.
