Album Reviews 3/14/2011

Best Of 2010 Project Progress Report - 3/11/2011 - I completed the initial review of 13 albums, bringing the total remaining albums down to 62 total. I currently anticipate completion of this phase of the project as the end of this week / early next week.

New Reviews:

Pimp C - The Naked Soul Of Sweet Jones - A boring "gangsta" rap album focusing mainly on how sexually irresistable Pimp C must be. One track does feature a nice guest appearance by Drake.

The Creepshow - They All Fall Down - When I first saw the name of the band I assumed it was another lame death metal band desperately wanting to be The Misfits. It turns out that they're an extremely competant punk band in the spirit of Be Your Own Pet. The songs where the female vocalist sings lead vocals are the best, but overall it was a very fun album.

Toby Keith - Bullets In The Gun - This album was about what I expected when I saw that Toby Keith came up on the queue. It wasn't as bad as previous Keith albums, but it still wasn't very good.

All That Remains - For We Are Many - Death metal noise. I must hear 100 albums a year with the same grunting vocals / loud drums combo and it almost never amounts to anything worthwhile.

Darius Rucker - Charleston, SC 1966 - Rucker continues to prove himself to be the kind of versatile artist who can make boring, predictable music across a variety of genres.

Die Antwoord - $0$ - A weird hip hop / world music album. A couple of the songs hit just right, but mostly it's just odd.

Best Of 2010 Project Progress Report - 3/14/2011 - I completed the initial review of 10 albums, bringing the total down to 52 albums. I currently anticipate completion of this phase of the project as the end of this week / early next week.
