#30 The Grouch And Eligh - "All In" from "SAY G&E!" - 2009's highest-charting hip hop song is a pop-friendly Outkast-ish song "All In", a song with a fantastic chorus and great verses.
#29 Them Crooked Vultures - "Spinning In Daffodils" from "Them Crooked Vultures" - Them Crooked Vultures retained many of the musical qualities of the super group's component parts and no song on the album is more Queens Of The Stone Age than this one.
#28 Phoenix - "Lisztomania" from "Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix"
#27 Alice In Chains - "Check My Brain" from "Black Gives Way To Blue"
#26 Animal Collective - "My Girls" from "Merriweather Post Pavilion"
#25 Wilco - "You Never Know" from "Wilco (The Album)" - The opening line of the song: "Come on children, you're acting like children. Every generation thinks it's the end of the world." may be my favorite song lyric of 2009. At the very least, it's the best opening line.
#24 Pearl Jam - "Just Breathe" from "Backspacer" - Every Pearl Jam album has at least one great slow song to go along with all the great rock songs. This is the best slow song off of "Backspacer" and one of the album's biggest hits as well.
#23 Death Cab For Cutie - "Meet Me At The Equinox" from "Twilight: New Moon Soundtrack"
#22 Puscifer - "The Mission" from "C Is For" - The obligatory Maynard James Keenan song on the countdown, "The Mission" is a grinding metal song with fantastic vocals traded between MJK and a female vocalist.
#21 Passion Pit - "Moth's Wings" from "Manners" - A brilliant and sweeping indie pop song with an Arcade Fire worthy crescendo chorus.
