The Top 500 Songs Of 2013 - Part 1 of 50, #501-#491

For the record, I did figure out what #502 was, in case I get the chance to expand this list at some point in the future.  #502 would have been Brandy Clark - "What Will Keep Me Out Of Heaven" had I continued my rankings for the year.

#501 The 1975 -"Chocolate" from "The 1975" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfBKqaVk2Co

#500 Drake feat. Jhene Aiko - "From Time" from "Nothing Was The Same" - Jhene Aiko's vocals are the highlight of this song.  I would expect to hear a lot more from her next year, as her 2014 debut earned rave reviews. -  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dxy574tBK5A

#499 The Pistol Annies - "Unhappily Married" from "Annie Up" - The only 2013 song from the country music supergroup, featuring Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe (more from her later) and Angaleena Presley, who had a number of songs that fell a little bit short this year, but did come close. -  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Z10Cm8BAOk

#498 Kings Of Leon - "Tonight" from "Mechanical Bull" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXO0_Sq7YDI

#497 Frank Turner - "Four Simple Words" from "Tape Deck Heart" - This one starts out slowly, but at the 1:25 mark the tone shifts from ballad to folk-punk rager. -  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBaCRl2h87I

#496 The Yeah Yeah Yeahs - "Slave" from "Mosquito" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPtna3Thvzc

#495 Kate Nash - "Fri-end" from "Girl Talk" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3eqm7lPEv5E

#494 Brandy Clark - "Stripes" from "12 Stories" - The first of two songs on the countdown from one of this year's best new country artists.   -  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=plPRmANJF_w

#493 Saturday Looks Good To Me - "Sunglasses" from "One Kiss Ends It All" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTS_eFgPw0c

#492 Placebo - "Rob The Bank" from "Loud Like Love" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lye7781lliI

#491 The Meat Puppets - "One More Drop" from "Rat Farm" - Yep, they're still around.  One of the most surprising things that I've discovered while making these lists is that artists have long faded from the public eye continue to make music that's every bit as good as the height of their popularity. -  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrkrIIut0Tc
