The Top 500 Songs Of 2013 - Part 49 of 50, #20-#11

#20 The National - "Graceless" from "Trouble Will Find Me" - This song features one of my favorite choruses of the year.  The slow build-up pays off nicely, much like classics such as "Just Like Heaven" and "Can't Hardly Wait". - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8IS4YH_GGk

#19 Tegan And Sara - "Closer" from "Heartthrob" - From the twee all the way to performing at the Oscars and putting a song on pop radio, T&S have come a long way. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9e9NSMY8QiQ

#18 Vampire Weekend - "Diane Young" from "Modern Vampires Of The City" - The title is a clever pun and a nice footnote about one of VW's best songs. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oG6lTQNW04I

#17 Queens Of The Stone Age - "I Sat By The Ocean" from "…Like Clockwork" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9XzSK0MqeQ

#16 Jose Gonzalez - "Step Out" from "The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty Soundtrack" - The most bombastic song of 2013, which sounds even better when playing on a big screen showing the otherwise forgettable movie it accompanies. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lT8ntIcTO4o

#15 Janelle Monae (feat. Erykah Badu) - "Q.U.E.E.N." from "The Electric Lady" - A great song that was pushed even higher by Erykah Badu's late-song rap. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEddixS-UoU

#14 Chvrches - "The Mother We Share" from "The Bones Of What You Believe" - One of the highest-charting re-apperances from the 2012 list and one of indie pop's greatest songs ever. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mTRvJ9fugM

#13 Capital Cities - "Safe And Sound" from "In A Tidal Wave Of Mystery" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47dtFZ8CFo8

#12 Jay-Z (feat. Justin Timberlake) - "Holy Grail" from "Magna Carta… Holy Grail" - Oddly enough, the Timberlake part is far better than the rest of Jay-Z's song. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YcIgow6TDk

#11 Janelle Monae - "Dance Apocalyptic" from "The Electric Lady" - The best R&B song of 2013. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaMBagakSdM
